I can't agree enough with this.
I got a beta key for this in PC Gamer last May, never got around to redeeming it though, I really want to now but I cant find it :(

I always feel skeptical about trying F2P games because I'll almost always get my ass kicked by someone who has a better item that they probably bought off of a store. Not sure if this is like that, but I don't want to be playing in matches with jets while I have a cheap little aircraft.
Wow, checking this out!

There is a bit of a grind, but it's not as terrible as that which you'd experience with WoWP or WoT. I'd highly recommend it, it's got the best M&K flying controls I've ever used, and runs great, whilst looking pretty nice. Not to mention the fact that most planes have modelled cockpits and there's a whole lot of planes. It's quite skill based in that you won't be totally fucked over, even if the starter planes are pretty bad. You can get yourself a spitfire or zero pretty quickly if you aim for them.
I got a early invite to the beta for this because I own Wing of Prey. I set my controls up, hopped into a server and had my plane shot down pretty quickly. No respawn. So I left and found another server and my 2nd plane got shot down quickly. No respawn. So now I'm sitting at the menu unable to play at all because my planes are locked into ongoing matches while dead, leaving me to poke around the menus and options. It's pretty much a WW2 airplane version of World of Tanks. I uninstalled it 5 minutes after that and haven't looked back since.
Umm, you start with multiple planes of each type for each faction and are able to fly with multiple planes per match. Sure you aren't thinking of WoWP? And you can't choose server, unless you count choosing regional server, it just plonks you in a match. Unless you got your ass kicked by bots on the tutorial. Fuck it, I can conclude that you haven't played it, unless you played it really early on.
It's a fun game, but I got bored of it after a few days. I might give it another go though, it was great fun while it lasted.
omg i wanna play
Did you not see my first sentence? I got in during the early closed beta. Of course things might have changed since then. Regardless, both servers it put me on had no respawns and my two aircraft (I only had two and could not get more at the time) were locked until those matches were concluded. Sorry I don't know what else to say - that is what happened and I thought it was bullshit. I don't care that I got my ass kicked. Happens to every new player. What pissed me off was not being able to respawn until the conclusion of a match.
I played in early beta and there were 3 planes per side by default, with 5 sides, you could play with one country whilst another was in battle and there was a bug so that you could keep on playing with the same country whilst it was in battle.
