I recently built a computer. I bought 4GB of DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz. They are this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 I downloaded speccy, and it fucking says "DRAM frequency: 667MHz" I've heard you could change it in the BIOS, but how would I do that? Google & youtube was spammed with retarded ways of "speeding up your computer", which were not my problem
change the frequency in the BIOS, if you're on an asus mobo, it should be under jumperfree configuration ro something like that. Also, Speccy reports half of what it's really at. So you're at 1333 mhz now.
Do you know how high I should raise it?
What motherboard do you have?

You do realize what DDR stands for, right?
change it to 800 800 x 2 = 1600
You do realize what DDR stands for, right?
Double data rate. I've never messed with OC'ing before. Loosen up Edit: It said 400 before. I changed it to 800 now speccy and CPU-Z say around 800MHz. I'm guessing it's really 1600MHz though?
What you see in Speccy is half the actual speed.
What you see in Speccy is half the actual speed.
I learned something today. Thanks.
I learned something today. Thanks.
It's somewhat hard not to learn something everyday while working with computers.
