List PC games (old or new, doesn't matter.) that share characteristics with Spore, or Stranded II. As in, survival and customization-type games. Thanks.
There's another game with "spore" in name but it's only about space, and it's multiplayer, forgot its name. [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] DarkSpore, that's it.

look for "God games" also darkspore is poop
A really old as shit game called Creatures was sort of like Spore, but also sort of different. It had intelligent creatures with AI and genes and the such, and you could breed them and let them survive. It was amazing when I was a child and I know that people managed to get really freaky shit to happen with the genes and mutations. I remember having a really strange creature that had an obsession with being cold and would always go to cold places. I opened the creature editor to have a look at it and it had about 20 extra organs that normal creatures don't have, that converted 'cold' into energy and the like. Amazing that it came from just repeatedly breeding creatures over many generations. I believe there is a 'free' version that only gives you one breed and a tiny spaceship to work with called Creatures: Docking Station and I'm not sure if the multiplayer aspect still works but I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to play a deceptively complex game about evolution.
There was that game Impossible Creatures. It was an RTS where you create your own units by mixing different animals together. For example, you could make a bunch of tigers with lobster claws or flying bears.
Shores of Hazeron is kind of like a MMO version of Spore meets Star Trek. There's less emphasis on creature customization, however.

Download a SNES emulator and get E.V.O. Search for Eden. You won't regret it.

That game series had a modder community the like hasn't been seen before or since. Like fallout for scale, only minus the freaky sex. Check out the wiki: http://creatures.wikia.com/wiki/Creatures_Wiki_Homepage You can get the whole series on GOG, minus the breed DLC for C3/DS. Those... you'll have to whistle for those. Ruddy hard to find, definition of abandonware pretty much. Also, the new creatures online looks like it's going to be apocalyptically bad. Seriously, all the boxes for bad free2play checked.
