I want a pair of expensive speakers designed for home cinema but I want to use them with my computer this is the input they have on the back are there any converters i could use, and what is this input called? please help!
The internet says spring terminals http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/speaker-wires.html
I think these are the ones on the back of my hifi amp. Basically you don't need terminated wires to plug into them - as in, the end is just a stripped wire with copper exposed, you stick them into the terminals and snap them in place. They're p. helpful because you can use pretty much any audio cable if you cut the connector off the end of it. Don't go doing that until you know that's actually what these inputs are, though.
You sure you have an amplifier? Most people with an amplifier would recognize those terminals. What brand is it?
This thread is full of people who find anally retentive reasons to scorn a boy for not possessing an intuitive foreknowledge of what a couple of holes in the back of a noise-making box are. vvvvvvvvvvvvvv
You're gonna need some some higher gauge wire. Go buy some speaker wire from the hardware store, and connect it with the end of a headphone cable, close to the jack. Make sure the impedance matches and it should work fine.
Are you serious? You must be under 12 not to know what that is. [editline]06:15PM[/editline] put the red wire in the red input, Same goes for black.

You get a normal 2-wired cable, doesn't matter what it's for as long as it's got 2 cables. Then hook up the red to the red, and black to black. The isulation of the cable doesn't do anything, so you can use a pink and a poison-green cable if you want, as long as it's hooked up similiar on the amplifier.
You'll need an amplifier if you want to use them on your computer.
yes im 11 sorry for not pissing about with hifi equipment before ill never return to the forums again. but yeah i have an amplifier.
yes im 11 sorry for not pissing about with hifi equipment before ill never return to the forums again. but yeah i have an amplifier.
PC -> 3.5mm to jack -> amplifier's AUX-IN -> get a long enough cable -> red wire to red, black to black -> connect the other end of the cable to the speaker.
