Alright, this has been a problem for the last 6 months, but it happens on and off so I never asked until now. Keep in mind I'm not tech-savvy in the slightest so bear with me.
My brother and I have similar laptops (he has a Lenovo Y480 and I have a Lenovo Z570 if it matters). He's at college for a lot of the time but when he comes home on breaks, our internet connections seem to interfere with each other, and leaves us both with no connection at all. He hooked up his laptop to an ethernet cable and switched off his wifi, so he's fine and has no problems now. However, every few hours, my connection gets lost and I have to reset my router to regain it. I read that it could be due to some radio frequency interference but I have no idea how to solve problems like that. So, my options?
1. Get an ethernet cable for myself until my brother leaves again
2. Ask my fellow Facepunchers
Any help would be appreciated
Some newer routers allow you to use a different frequency band, you will have to look around in the router settings. It could also be a problem with IP address conflicts
