• installing windows7 on HP laptop

I just recently bought a laptop from HP (it was the cheapest deal i got) and I wanted to format the laptop and reinstall windows. The thing is.. that the laptop didn't come with disk and i didn't want to buy one so I decided to ask for one from my friend. He gave me windows 7 home premium 64bit (the same windows 7 that my laptop uses) and i installed all the drivers to my flash drive and began formatting.. After i was finally finished with installing it, i tried to plug my usb into the laptop and nothing happened! After hours of trying to figure it out, i decided to recover my laptop and ask facepunch for help. My device manager said that the usb ports are there... [editline]4th December 2011[/editline] i placed my drivers in the recovery partition and formatted the c drive and installed drivers for it and one of them was 3.0 usb driver. after i installed that, the port that uses 3.0 driver (which also allows 2.0) seems to work. Are there 2.0 usb drivers?
If you get the motherboard/usb drivers from the hp website for your specific laptop it should fix the problem
