• Ivy Bridge Build

I now have a stable job, with no current commitments to pay off - so while I can I'm going to channel the funds into a decent PC build. I don't need an upgrade straight away, so I'll save my funds until Ivy Bridge is released so that I have plenty to play with at that time. I'm having some preliminary thoughts and research on parts - please comment, opinions are useful! Get a GTX570 or a 580. SLI off the bat is not that good. You do not need a 1kw PSU. 850W should be fine even in SLI. Motherboard seems to be fine but there should be some cheaper ones. Also, afaik there will come some new chipsets too. Of course, the old ones will work etc. but yeah.
Don't get the H100 cooler. If you're spending that much then get the NH-D14. Nvidia will also be releasing their new cards soon so get those instead of the 580 or 560ti.
Keplar is due to be released on March 23rd. And the AMD 7000 series price might go down at the same time.
If you're waiting for Ivy Bridge then wait until it's released before piecing together a build.
