Isn't this that one game that only got popular due to that one Youtuber? Good to see it was enough to warrant a full remake.

However, I do think this review is lacking a bit because the guy obviously doesn't know much about the genre Hatoful Boyfriend was deconstructing, and I'm guessing he didn't get to the true route from his review.
Hatoful provides an actually interesting character development storyline, but given that a single playthrough is maybe 40minutes, it just becomes instantly dry. Since the first 20minutes or so have almost no real choices and play out the same way. Much of the choices and results are at the end of the game so you have to drudge through so much of the same text, same introductions, same surprise events to see how the game plays out differently. Worth it for 1-2 playthroughs. I'd recommend it if you have an open mind. But I'm someone who has never played this genre of game.
