My Problem Is: I start up hammer editor, pc goes off, I enter game pc goes off as well. WHen I just use internet or watch videos or listen music (basically anything not involving 3D) pc acts normal. By Goes Off I mean it' not even a blue screen, it just freezes and music that I had playing in game just goes glitch and loops 1 second sound. And can't even turn on/off keyboard caps lock/scroll lock/numlock. SO I have to restart pc. Worst thing is: That it doesn't even save logs or dump files. But crash happens only in 3D applications. ALso: I cleaned out pc, bought new fans, regulated airflow in pc, bringed down temperatures by half. And reinstalled Windows. And this shit still happens. So what's the conclusion? GPU? CPU? BOTH?
It sounds like either a driver problem or a hardware problem with the video card. Did you install the latest drivers for the video card from the manufacturer's website? (ATI/Nvidia)?
What GPU do you have? Try onboard graphics to make certain it's the GPU.
It's Nvidia GT9500. Though it's not ordinary GT9500. The ordinary GT9500 has 512 Mb. While mine has 1 GB DDR2, it also says Inno3D. And I don't have onboard gpu. [editline]11th December 2010[/editline] Quite an intresting thing here guys, I disconnected 2 fans, and dvd rom. And shit started working. So, I guess 550WAT isnt enough for me anymore.
:downs: I totally overlooked the PSU. When PSUs go bad, they can exhibit a wild range of symptoms, including the one you're experiencing. 550W is plenty for a 9500GT, you likely just need to buy a new PSU. If you want, you can open the PSU and check for blown/bulging capacitors, which is a tell tale sign of failure. PSUs can be rescued by replacing the capacitors, but that's generally only reserved for non-standard and expensive to replace PSUs like the ones in Shuttle SBCs, SFF Dells and other weird form factors. I've saved several non-standard PSUs by recapping them, it's not too hard if you've got soldering experience.
I got: 4 GB RAM DDR2, GT9500 4 FANS 2 HDD And loads of LED's
