Carmack was the true brain and Romero the metaphorical heart behind the love child that is Doom, it's offspring, and the extended family that we know of today. You can't deny that without them working together (along with their team,) Doom just wouldn't be right. Acknowledging the fact that they made Doom what it is doesn't make you his bitch.
