Mouse disconnects/reconnects at will; causes volume to shoot down/up randomly

Title pretty much explains everything I know. Every 10 seconds or so as I'm using the mouse, it disconnects for a couple seconds and then reconnects. This is not only annoying while I'm working and/or gaming, but whenever the mouse disconnects the computer's volume shoots down to the point where I can barely hear it on my usually abnormally loud speakers at max volume, and then an unspecified interval of time later the volume comes back at full force and scares the shit out of me, only to return to its impossible-to-hear state seconds later as the mouse disconnects again. I will do anything that's required of me to get this fixed, I have become sick and tired of being handicapped computer-wise.

My mouse is a logitech mx310. My speaker system is a logitech x240. I'm not sure what my sound card is, I can't see its name in device manager or through dxdiag.
Anyone willing to help?

I'd also like to mention I already ran a bunch of diagnostics and my HDD/RAM are working fine, as I've been told HDD/RAM failure seems to be a cause for this.
Looks like a driver conflict to me, i wouldn't know how to pinpoint the culprit though.
Do you have a different mouse you can use?
