I would pay a Youtube subscription if it meant that the videos I watch are less compressed as a result, I don't give a shit about exclusive content.
So does this mean I will bump into Minecraft videos when browsing redtube?
YouTube Red..? Like... RedTube?
Yeah I'm really surprised they went with that name... feels like they're asking for trouble.
Rooster tooth
YouTube content will be able to be downloaded and watched offline, a contrasting approach to Netflix
??? [t]http://sharex.moe/i/2015/10/15-10-22_05-28-06.png[/t] Imagine paying 10 bucks to download youtube
Watching full length movies involving vloggers I don't care about? That is so worth $10. Especially the ad blocking part, since there's absolutely no free way to block YouTube ads.
I want two things. 1: Selectable bitrate next to the video resolution. 2: No adverts That's it. Youtube is great and I'd be willing to pay $10 a month for it.
I posted this in the Sensationalist Headlines thread but this subscription service is completely misunderstood.
Google was already doing this with Youtube Music Key, Youtube Red just changes the name and introduces ad-blocking, which is useful on phones. Considering I've already been paying for Play Music/Music Key, this is just added value and for $10 a month it was already a killer deal.
It comes with Google Play Music too, which is better than Spotify.
So how long until the big channels are behind this paywall I wonder
I posted this in the Sensationalist Headlines thread but this subscription service is completely misunderstood. Edit: It works both ways. What a time to be alive.
So how long until the big channels are behind this paywall I wonder
If any of the major guys moved all their content behind the paywall, they'd go broke. The way it works right now is $5 goes straight to YouTube, and $5 gets split between all the people you watch during the month by time viewed. So if you watch ten people a week, evenly, $.50 of your contribution goes to each person. That's worse than CPMs. That's worse than Patreon. I'll just keep supporting the guys I like on Patreon, and using Adblock. I'll pay a little bit for content, as long as the guys making the content get that money.
