This actually surprised me.
but then again, "Just 61% of Scots have broadband" after reading that lower really meant basically shit.
if you live in rural scotland you know how pointless it would be to own broadband simply because it would cost shitloads , and the speed would be almost equal to dial-up.
They're too busy wearing kilts to give a fuck
We're too busy going to University for free
I bet it's because the other third of scots that don't have broadband are the ones who live in rural areas and don't have access to decent internet.
I think that if they did a survey asking people if they would use the internet if they were all given BT Infinity or a similar, good service, would be better.
Prices for broadband are ridiculous. Here, we pay £40 a month for a 40gb cap (that's the frigging business package) and a speed of 120kb/s. Speeds on the lower accounts are between 30 and 70kb/s.
Also, they cut you off without warning when they want to.. Either because you were clogging up the system with constant downloads or there just in a *I'm going to piss people off* mood

doesn't seem to be doing you much good considering Scotland is pretty much the shittest country in Europe

The thing that annoys me about these forums is you can say something about black people and get banned, but if you say shit like that you don't get banned.

Woahwoah what
doesn't seem to be doing you much good considering Scotland is pretty much the shittest country in Europe
Scotland isn't even a country :suicide:
-snip- My stupidity is explained in the next post.
Where the fuck did you hear that.Yes it is. Britain is a nation composed of Scotland, England and Wales. Also I didn't miss out Northern Ireland as they are part of the UK not Britain.
"Historically" it's a country yes but it fails to meet the criteria of a "state" country, and also whoever made up Britain is retarded, I hate when people call me British and not English. It should just be called the UK, but nooo, we need TWO names.

I live in scotland and i can assure you that it's far better than most countries in europe that i've been to. The scenery is awesome (i live in the north east and was just in the cairngorms today, it's ace) and you still have cities with a certain vibrance like edinburgh plus our unis are free :)
Not surprising though (in relation to the article), the internet speeds in some places are quite shoddy.
Scotland isn't even a country :suicide:
I'm sure the Scots really appreciate that comment gj
I wasn't surprised at this at all tbh. Especially if you live out in the rural areas like mentioned before.
I've only had internet since like 2007, took me long enough after years and years of begging my dad to actually get it... :v:

Ok then.... moron.
I live in scotland and get 15/1 for £33 a month unlimited and unthrottled connection.

Seen worse.
I live in the countryside not far from a town and I pay like £23 for my broadband including my phone line and I get download speeds of about 200kb/s. But BT are so fucking lazy they won't replace my copper cables with fibre optics because they are dumbfucks.

North East represent! And yes, the cairngorms are fucking lovely, been hiking in them for most of my life and they've NEVER got old. I live near Aberdeen and go to University there myself (Best Zoology/Biology department in Britain, which is my subject, and one of the best Engineering campuses as well)

Wow. You've clearly not been here have you?
Scots go to Uni for free? I want to be scottish
Scots go to Uni for free? I want to be scottish
They allow foreign students, but they're planning on cutting down on places for said foreign students.
I'm half Scottish, do I only pay half?
