While 8 million is a huge number for torrents, didn't both of those movies rake in a shit load of money anyway?
Well, they got their burglar.

The first one was the 4th highest grossing film of 2012, grossed just over $1 billion.
Interesting.. because I didn't choose to uhh.. this particular film.

I saw the first time twice at the theater, in 3D and Regular and i enjoyed every single moment of it.
Anyone who downloaded it instead of seeing it in cinema is missing out. The 48fps really makes a difference.
these are the only 3D movies I enjoy
it's done so well
I don't get the point of pirating movies. The giant screen and surround sound speakers with ball-tingling bass are half the experience.

they didn't use the 48fps version where I saw it here.

That's because they're asscunts and only the 3d version is 48fps

o fuck were gonna be poor

The 3D pissed me off so badly, I hate 3d. But the 48fps was cool as fuck.

Think of the children!
[sp]You always know something is a muck when politicians mention children. Even though they weren't mentioned.[/sp]

At my local theater the ticket price is increased by at least 4€ with 3D, and that's if you have the glasses.
And of course the 48fps version is only in 3D.
I can't blame people for pirating it. I have watched the first movie, and didn't feel like going to the second one and I won't feel like going to the third one because given how short the book was, there is no reason apart from cashing in to separate it in three dragged-out, poorly paced titles. So I went to see the first one, bought the first one on blu-ray, and I'm not planning on spending a dime on the two following chapters.

To be fair, I wasn't too keen on the first one and I just got back from the second. It was much better.

So it's not a matter of looking at the number of pirated copied
but the percentage of pirated vs sold
Never saw the first, the second to me was just dragged out in so many parts. But i loved the majority. It just takes tons of dedication to sit in a movie theater for 2 hours and 40 minuets....

I'm sure it was mainly done when the movie was no longer showing in cinemas.

Not to say that I do but I can't imagine everyone can afford to dish out $10+ for every movie they want to see that's in theaters

I like how they state this while having record years at the box office and in on-demand venues.
