They're trying so hard for this game to be competitive.
Fuck you Hi-Rez, why didn't you do this for Tribes?

no
Tribes ascend and Global Agenda were unprofitable in their betas while Smite is way more profitable, and it was before it was launched this March
I played this a little bit in beta last year but there weren't many heroes/champions/whatev. Does anyone know how much it has improved?

That's all I can remember at the top of my head though.

There's a shitton of MOBAs in the market. Tribes was one of it's kind. I could do without Smite, but Tribes leaves a real void.

Smite is actually my favourite ASSFAGGOTS because of how different it feels and controls.
I miss Global Agenda. I felt like they had the idea right, but never got to see it through because people kept whining about PvE content.
Smite is worth a try if you're interested in MOBAs but not into traditional ones.

Not only that, hirez's business model is to create a game to reap profit then ditch it to go work on their next game coming up once profitability in their last game falls.

That would only apply if the other previous games had been even profitable in the first place. They lost 20 millon dollars between GA and T:A, only a madman would keep throwing money at such financial failures.
And before you start again: Yes, the games ended up being umprofitable because of terrible choices they made, I'm not defending that. I'm saying that the games weren't dropped after earning X money, and that Smite had nothing to do with the failure of the other games beyond it being developed by the same people. (Come on, I know YOU know this. Making up scenarios to lie to yourself to have more reasons to hate them to cope with the loss of those games is not healty.)
its a fun game but i cant shake the feeling that it will drop support whenever mobas stop being the in-genre
As long as Tencent (Chinese company that made a partnership with Hi-Rez) wants to keep this game running, it will stay that way.
Now, if THEY want the game to die.. I don't realy know what would happen. But I don't think they'll want to kill the game for atleast a few years.
