• Attempting to install graphics drivers, but keep getting error

So I just got an ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card to replace my GeForce 8800. I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers and I'm attempting to install the ATI Catalyst drivers, however, it keeps giving my an error that says:
Delete Error An error occurred while deleting file C:\\WINDOWS\system32\amdcaldd.dll. Data error (cyclic redundancy check). (error #23)
It gives me the option to retry or cancel and continue, I tried both but it keeps coming up. It won't proceed with the download until it's fixed. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

You basicly uninstall it if you do that while keeping it stored in case you need it. Or at least you should TRY this. If it doesn't work i got no idea.

You may hav edeleted it properly when you first tried it, but then something odd happened and the installer or uninstaller didn't notice that it already deleted it. Basicly it thinks there is a cat in a box while the cat is already gone. I like using metaphors.

Try making a blank txt file and saving it as amdcaldd.dll.
Try making a blank txt file and saving it as amdcaldd.dll.
Tried it but it gave me more cyclic redundancy errors. I googled cyclic redundancy check and the first result gave me a program called RegCure meant to fix corrupted files (the usual cause of CRC errors) I'm gonna try it out and see if that doesn't get me anywhere. EDIT Fuck, RegCure won't fix DLL's unless I fucking buy it. Gonna search for any other programs unless anyone else has any ideas.
Try reformating your operating system
Now I know you're trolling. [editline]10:40PM[/editline] Download ccleaner and let it fix registry errors.
Nevermind guys, I got my tech-savvy friend to help out and he just had me run a chkdsk scan. Fixed everything.
