yo mods change the title to Fermi Discussion Thread
talk about NVIDIA 400 shit and not your ATI driver circle jerking sessions
I just hope they are more stable and same/lower priced than the 5xxx series. I'm getting tired of this thing.
How am I dumb for getting tired of crashing?
I wasn't aware anyone here read/went to GS. Cool beans.
Re-branded 200 series card, like usually. Seem laptops already are getting the 300 series, and they are re-branded gt240s.

GeForce 300 series =/= Geforce GTX 300 Series
yes, they are both part of the "300s" but don't forget that
probably they'll be rebrands of the 200s, but I'm not going to complain.
Drop the prices and I might consider this in the near future.

Fucking Nvidia and their fucking naming system. Stop overlapping and have a linear naming scheme.

Oh shut the fuck up. They're moving their cards to a newer line so consumers don't get confused. Seriously, you could be half retarded and still understand it so I don't see what you're complaining about.
This is nonsense...
400 high end and 300 is low end, kinda like 200 is high and 100 is low end.
[editline]07:06AM[/editline]
To bad the GPU is gonna have a min requirement of 1,000 watts after seeing the pictures of those things.

200-series renamed, duh

If I were a regular consumer I'd be confused as hell. As it is I don't even try to keep them all straight because I'm not interested in buying right now.
So did they completely forget about the GTX3xx cards, or am i missing something?
Oh and odellus, nvidia's naming system is shit, go fanboy somewhere else.

I agree with this
NVIDIA and only NVIDIA knows what they are doing... and I'm pretty sure they are doing it for the best...

No, not really. Since those aren't part of the GTX 300 Series :downs:

It follows the same business model cause it's nvidia, the way it's meant to be sold. :downs:
NVIDIA and only NVIDIA knows what they are doing
That's the problem.

Uh no, it's not really. I already said it once and I'll say it again, they're transitioning the old cards into the new series to make it easier for people to choose the card they want. Do you want people trying to choose between a 9800 GT and a GT 310? No.
[editline]02:26PM[/editline]
I'm trying to sensibly defend NVIDIA and all that happens is I get bombarded with boxes and "lul fanboi" because quite apparently this entire section is pro ATI.

The new system is hardly any easier. The 200 series is now a confusing mix of newer cards and old rebands, the 300 series consists of a single pointlessly rebranded 210, and now there are new cards going into the never-before-seen 400 series. Meanwhile we've got the three prefixes G, GT, and GTX which used to mean something when they were suffixes but now only serve as a general "good, better, best" categorization.
Oh and that example you gave, choosing between a 9800GT and a 310? The same people who would have had trouble with that now will face choosing between a 240 and a 310. Guess which one they're automatically going to think is better?

No, it's just that you're an arrogant idiot. Ratings are rating if you're taking that seriously then you really need to see a therapist.

Uh huh, you should really take into account your own history of posts before criticizing me.
[editline]03:42PM[/editline]
And yeah, stating that, once again, they're moving their cards into the newer generation definitely makes me arrogant.
This naming stuff is really getting stupid.
If I ever release a GPU series, it's gonna start at 1 and keep going from there.
Rad-Force 1.

lol ok :downs:
I'll just have buttforce 1 basic, buttforce 1 mainstream, buttforce 1 gamer, and buttforce 1 ultra
buttforce = series
1 = generation
basic = quality
have a few special editions thrown in there, like buttforce 1 1337, which is an ultra with an overclock.
I've pretty much given up hope anyway.
I'm converting to ati'ism.

Recent news! Nvidia releases a card as powerful as the 5870 for only $100.
Now I wonder what side you're going to now.

I go with the best power/money ratio.
