I'm looking for a very cheap build that could run TF2, and if possibly L4D.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I need the cheapest thing available.
I don't think you can get anything that runs L4d cheap.
You want cheap, I deliver.

13 dollar PSU. Uh oh...
You never specified your country.

You can max tf2/l4d with a $500 build.
Your best shot would be to save up for a real build instead of a 'desperately cheap' one.
It's worth the wait in the long run.

Mainly because of this

IIRC it can be unlocked to 2 cores.

Save up to $500. That computer would last about 6 months and by then you would've had the money to buy a better build that would've lasted longer.

I think I remember reading there is a secondary disabled core on that processor. It could be another processor, though.
If you want, I have a spare 450w IIRC, I can send it to you for 20$ or less shipped If your in continental 48 States.
if you have 160 I can do it but I won't recommend anything under that

Sempron 140 does unlock to two cores, if you have the right northbridge. I think it's the 780G and up that does it.

I built a computer for 700€ last year with this: Q6600, 4GB RAM, HD3870 - no game has caused any trouble yet and I don't think I have to change any parts.
For 600-700€ you can get a better computer these days with a high end HD4000 series video card. That's what I would do.
Don't build a computer for 200€ with all the cheapest parts you can find, save some money and built something that lasts a few years.
Single core really isn't that bad. I run TF2 with slight lag but still playable on a single core.
