Tbh I don't really give a fuck until either of them start shipping things to my house. I don't even have one-day shipping yet, let alone this fancy schmancy "we'll deliver actual groceries within like hours" shit.
Amazon Fresh is nice but the produce/bread are always borderline expired. [editline]14th March 2018[/editline] From my time working for Walmart produce, I advise never letting them deliver to you.
The advantage of buying from the market is you can reach to the back and get the best stuff
The advantage of buying from the market is you can reach to the back and get the best stuff
unless it's Walmart, where good peaches go rotten sitting in the walk-in fridge for weeks while old peaches finally leave the fridge to be sold they look fine on the outside for about 12 hours, before revealing their mealy texture of mush
If you live in an area that has an Ahold Delhaize based supermarket in the area, Peapod should be aviable. Family has only had issues with milk involving them and they immediately refunded that.
Instacart is a good option too, but ultimately Fresh has worked out best for me
I'd rather got to the store and get something fresh then playing lottery and get something that gonna expire within 24 hours.
I work retail; we're already as employees getting ready for the layoffs because the major brand stuff like Kellogs and such aren't going to be financially worth having on store shelves in about 5 to 10 years time. I'm figuring you'll see a resurgance of mom and pop stores because most major supermarkets make the majority of their cash on grocery shopping rather than Deli/Dairy/Meat shopping which for the most part have to be done in person and once a week for maximum freshness if you want good quality stuff.
I don't believe it was ever customary to go to malls to do grocery shopping in mine.
Man I just applied at WalMart because I got laid off, now you're telling me I have to worry about it again in a few years? Shit.
Sign up for seafood or meat. Even if you can't cut, they'll be needed and generally aren't chased after as jobs.
I applied for a stocker position because of my old work schedule and being able to work under a friend that's in management. I looked at food prep, but I hey were all full up.
It's good that Wal-Mart are expanding their business to reach more customers, but the fact that Wal-Mart is the chain for a lot of people is kind of depressing for me. The increasing lack of consumer diversity and buying choice in the world is somewhat worrying.
There are a lot of american who live in food poverty and do not have access to fresh food. I would be more impressed if they expanded grocery stores into improvised areas and get people access to fresh and affordable food. Low-income areas need access to farmers markets and grocery stores.
