• Nvidia Driver "Installs" but GeForce Experience still says there's an update available

As you can see, it recognizes that the current version is already installed, but it still thinks I need to update to the current version. So, basically I've now spent hours trying to gain the privilege to use the graphics card I fucking paid for. When the driver was working there would be an option to choose which card to use (I'm on a laptop with an integrated card as well) when I right clicked an application. Now, I can only use the integrated card. This started when I opened my laptop and logged in from Sleep mode, and couldn't open DotA, which had been minimized. So I closed DotA from the task manager and started it up, only to get an error about not being able to create a D3D device. So I reinstalled the driver using the same installer that had worked initially, and now I can't seem to actually install it, despite what the installer tells me. I've tried to install from GeForce experience, both custom clean/normal install, and express, and none of them work. I deleted all the Nvidia files from my computer, uninstalled the drivers and GeForce and PhysX things from the Programs and Features list, AND downloaded Driver Fusion to wipe out everything I could related to Nvidia, then reinstalled using an installer I redownloaded from the Nvidia site, and still nothing. So, if anyone has any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated. Oh also the card is a GeForce 755M and the computer's a Lenovo Y510P Ideapad
When you removed the old drivers, did you also go to device manager and remove the display drivers for your GPU. Also, did you disable anti anti virus/malware before you started the driver install? Uninstall > remove drivers manually > restart > disable antivirus/malware > install > restart Hope that helps.

"Installs", can't use the card, GeForce experience still says I need to update to the drivers I just installed.
You may need to reformat.
I'm having the exact same thing happen to me, and I'm on the lenovo y410p, Did you ever find a fix?
I would boot into safe mode and use Driver Sweeper (download from guru3d), I had an issue a bit like this when I upgraded to Windows 10 and it fixed it. Just run Driver Sweeper and reinstall your graphics Driver.
You could just remove geforce experience, it doesn't do much anyway unless you want the video capture.
Pepper;48411856']You could just remove geforce experience, it doesn't do much anyway unless you want the video capture.
I have exactly the same problem and probably know what he's done, the driver is installed but the 755m isn't working becuase it needs a restart, but a restart doesn't help and it just asks for another one.
I, too, have this same problem (the one plaguing lastfire123), despite having much success with GeForce Experience in the past. I have a 755M on my Windows 8.1 Lenovo Y410P and yesterday, when I tried to install the most recent driver (version 353.62, NVIDIA's Windows 10/DirectX 12 update, which is compatable on Windows 8.1) through GeForce Experience, I got a blank screen towards the end which didn't resolve itself in the twenty minutes I waited. So I restarted the computer and tried the installation again. This time it went to completion, though I was still getting a prompt from GeForce to install the driver which I thought I had just installed. Looking at my system devices, I see that I am still running the driver version prior to the most recent. So I come to the conclusion that GeForce Experience is bugged out with this install and I try to install right from the NVIDIA website. No dice. So I figure in order to get this driver to install properly I should completely uninstall all NVIDIA software involved and get a fresh install going. So I follow this guide to the tee, which involves using the newer version of Driver Sweeper to get rid of all NVIDIA remnants. I ended up with a computer completely devoid of NVIDIA software. Finally, thinking this would all be over soon, I reinstall GeForce Experience and go for the express installation of the troublesome driver (version 353.62). My understanding is that a successful install will also reinstall the NVIDIA Control Panel and the Physx Software. HOWEVER, the installation still refuses to cooperate and now I'm stuck where I was back before the complete uninstall. Going for a custom installation yields a picture just like OP's (though with the newest version numbers), but is ultimately as fruitless as everything else I've tried. So, what's the advice? Should I do another clean uninstall, and this time install driver version 353.62 from the NVIDIA website instead of GeForce? Should I look for an older driver version and try to install that?
Alright, I've got it working now. Basically I did another complete uninstall, reinstalled the driver from the NVIDIA website, and then reinstalled it. At first, it didn't work, but then my PC decided to do some Windows updates when I restarted. When I got back in, the driver finished installing correctly and everything looks peachy. I've got NVIDIA Control Panel, Physx, and GeForce Experience working. My hunch is that it only works now because the driver was designed for Windows 10 & is only backwards compatible to Windows 8.1 with this recent update that Microsoft sent out.
