Hey guys. I have a monitor that I got with my old computer in 2007. It's 24", made by Dell, and it's been doing me well ever since I got it.
There was a tiny crack that was made on the screen last month, I don't know how it got there, but it didn't bother me. It's now a giant eyesoreish crack, so now I'm assuming my monitor wants me to replace it.
I was thinking about getting a new monitor that is at least 24" and looks nice. I'm going to be using the monitor for gaming mainly, and I'm going to use one.
I don't know how choosing monitors goes. I can spend up to $500 on my monitor, if necessary.
Two monitors I'm currently thinking about getting.

Anyways, what are some things I need to look for in a monitor that is going to be mainly used for gaming?
Definitely go with the Asus one.
Why not the Dell one? What's the difference between the two that makes the ASUS one much better?(Besides the price)
Why not the Dell one? What's the difference between the two that makes the ASUS one much better?(Besides the price)
Because the Dell is the same as the Asus one. You're only playing 500 dollars for the "Dell" brand (Which they're usually LG panels rebranded as Dell).
Friend of mine also has that same Asus, and it's fantastic. I also own 2 Asus monitor for more than 3 years now, and they're still working like I bought them yesterday.
Dell is known for it's fantastic monitors, but that much more money isn't worth it.

The Asus isn't even IPS, if he has the budget for an IPS don't tell him to get a TN.

Did you even look at the monitors? You're talking outta your ass. That dell monitor is amazing, way better than the cheap asus.
If you're willing to spend the premium definitely go for the Dell, there we almost certainly be a noticeable difference.
Suit yourself. Go pay 500 dollars for a monitor.
:sigh:
I heard IPS monitors aren't good for gaming. Am I wrong?
