I'm not convinced real vehicles get disabled for a few moments with 'direct' hits.

Good news! Arma 3 just came out!
I'm not convinced real vehicles get disabled for a few moments with 'direct' hits.
But I guess you're okay with people entering and leaving vehicles on the whim like it's nothing.
I'm not convinced real vehicles get disabled for a few moments with 'direct' hits.
It's better than the BF3 system at least, and it rewards shot placement with more than just more damage.

Battlefield is one of the furthest games from "realistic" i've ever played.
I'm not convinced real vehicles get disabled for a few moments with 'direct' hits.
See it more like the crew getting all tumbled up by a direct hit and it takes a few moments for them to get their bearings of the fuck just happened.

So how many games have you played again? Cause last time i checked, theres plenty of games out the with magical creatures and other crap which doesn't exist
One more reason not to use vehicles thanks dice.
could mean that firing directly from above straight onto the turret does critical
maybe from behind as well.

Yesterday I played MP Black Ops 2. You should try it out. Totally realistic.

I'm not convinced that you can perfectly maintain any military vehicle using only a blow torch. But I guess the torch in BF3 uses magic, and I'm fine with that.
I'm not convinced that you can perfectly maintain any military vehicle using only a blow torch.
I was stabbed in the chest straight through the heart, doctors defib'ed me once and i was a-okay It's completly realistic
I was stabbed in the chest straight through the heart, doctors defib'ed me once and i was a-okay It's completly realistic
Knife in BF4 actually makes you unreviveable.
How about headshots?
Knife in BF4 actually makes you unreviveable.
i'm liking this game more and more..
How about headshots?
Only knife does that. Having your head blown off by a 120mm penetrator shell leaves you completely reviveable.
he never said he's ok with any of that
The others and I were (surely) being sarcastic about how he might feel that this is unfair, or unrealistic :v:

Dice Rolls in a First Person Shooter suck. This is terrible
Dice Rolls in a First Person Shooter suck. This is terrible
Did you read the article?
“The critical hit damage threshold is carefully tweaked alongside the damage zones and glancing-hit scaling on each vehicle, in a way that promotes playing smart as both a vehicle operator, and in an anti-vehicle role. This new concept of temporary critical hits means that we keep the sense of impending danger that a damaged vehicle brings – while still allowing for brave drivers to regain control and keep fighting.”
Critical damage is a threshold, not a random number.
This is awesome, be interesting to see how it effects gameplay and players on a large scale.
One of my biggest problems with BF3 was how little depth vehicles had compared to infantry and how incredibly important to the battle they actually were, so this stuff, well, it's improving my view of the game. Still not enough to warrant a purchase, but perhaps the beta will change my mind.
Battlefield is one of the furthest games from "realistic" i've ever played.
Battlefield 3 is the most confused game I have ever played. I wants to be realistic, it wants to be battlefield, and it wants to be call of duty.
Do you guys really care about realism in a video game?
Just think about how unfun an actually realistic shooter would be.

BF3 has dice rolls already, I'm sure un-scoped chest shots with the M95 have a 50% chance to insta-kill or something.
Plus with more and more physics in games, randomness is just a given. It's not like CS or Streetfighter where the outcome is completely based on skill alone.
Those days seem to be gone.

I don't know about that. A lot of people seem to enjoy ARMA, and it's much more realistic.
imagine caring about bf4
Life is based on random chance, btw. God does roll dice with the universe
