Dual 5970 2gb? jesus, that is fucking unneccesary, one will do... also 1500-1800 USD on graphics cards? for crying out loud, a computer with a motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics, power supply, and a case that costs 800-900 USD will do just as well.
build the computer yourself
Don't worry about DOA parts, if you get quality, they should be fine. Otherwise it's just a week delay.
Building a computer is going to be cheaper than getting a prebuilt too.
I'm assuming you're Canadian? I'll put together a build.

Actually I think you'll find a single 5970 produces a minimum framerate of 30+ in Crysis @ V.High 1920X1200, so no, you wont seen any improvement with 2, just a waste of money.
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147144 - Case $55
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131633 - Mobo $150
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102881 - GPU $390
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103692 - CPU $189
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409 - RAM $104
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106333 - DVD Burner $31
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018 - PSU $90
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 - HDD $100
$1,108.92 Before rebates
Save the rest of your money and use it to buy upgrades later on. It should run all the games out right now at max though.
OR you could replace the CPU and Mobo and get this if you'd prefer an Intel CPU:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130246 - Mobo $135
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215 - CPU $210
get 2 5850
One more question, im looking at an Gateway FX6831-03 or FX6831-01
Are they good for the price? And can they do crossfire
:barf: dont get prebuilts for gaming
no but i7 860 16 GB ram HD 5850 an all, it would be more expensive to build
no but i7 860 16 GB ram HD 5850 an all, it would be more expensive to build
no it wouldnt, and you dont need 16gb of ram
no but i7 860 16 GB ram HD 5850 an all, it would be more expensive to build
16 gb of ram, you won't need that. Crysis can't even drag that out.
Get 6-12 gb of ram, hell 6 is enough, 4 gb still runs whatever games I know of.
Get a 5850, or a 5970 if you really must feel superior, but there's really no need for that.
It's cheaper to build yourself, performance wise.
But even if you get a prebuilt, don't get 16 gb of ram and 2x5970.
no it wouldnt, and you dont need 16gb of ram
Seriously.
The most you need for gaming right now is 4GB.

Oh look, 3 GB and 12 GB perform the same in Crysis.
So get either 3GB or 4GB and put the money you save on not wasting it on memory towards a better CPU, or a bigger HD. Or even hold on to it and pay for an upgrade later on.
no but i7 860 16 GB ram HD 5850 an all, it would be more expensive to build
no it's not, it's much cheaper to build it
He is beyond help, the pre-built way is engrained deep in this one.
My computer was kindof prebuilt, my dad got it from a store and they built it for him, he used to build computers, he built my last one, at the time it was one of the fastest, I look at it now and It's a piece of junk. He got it from a local computer store builders. The only thing I did when I bought it was buy a graphics card (dedi) instead of a god damn nvidia630a built in to the mobo.
I got an XFX Nvidia 9600 GSO, was on sale for £85 in maplins. Came with a free game too and a copy of 3D mark which I cant run on my XP machine because it wasn't compatible. Now I have 7 however

uh thanks for telling us
no idea why you'd buy from maplins seeing as they're shit with PC components
I think you should make your own system, it'll probably be cheaper and better.
Also, do you really need that much RAM?

Cool story bro.
But seriously all prebuilts are rip offs. Its pretty dumb to think building is more expensive.
The only game recommending over 6gigs of RAM is Metro 2033, they recommend 8, so 16=overkill... And If you really want to have 2 5970' then buy one now, and XFire them later´...
