I have been trying to burn an ISO to a blank disk (Imation brand DVD+R DL) but my drive just won't detect them. I tried them on my PC downstairs and it worked fine, and burned fine. When the disk is in my tray it makes a small whir as if it is trying to read it, then a quiet clicking noise, over and over again.
I tried updating the drives firmware but that made no difference. Not sure if it is relevant but my DVD drive is set to 1, the slave. Anyone any ideas what's up?
Drive could be shot.
I have the same problem. It sucks.

Quiet, repetitive clicking noises coming from any part of computer hardware are usually a sign of something wrong. Your drive is most likely shot.
