PROBLEM FIXED ITSELF, NEVERMIND I have a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S243N SCSI CdRom Device that's been having problems ever since I've had to reformat my HDD. It's been slow to read discs, if it even does at all. I'll place the disc in the drive and the activity light will flicker a little, but not really do anything, and I heard that drivers can fix it, so I looked it up and I found this: http://www.tsstodd.com/eng/Firmware/FWDownload/?functionvalue=view&no=633&parent_idx=&level_idx=&model=SH-S243N&productName=DVD-Writer%20Half%20Height&product=HDW[1] But I'm not really sure what to get. I'm clueless when it comes to drivers and hardware, so I'm not sure if this is even the right thing to download. It does appear to be, though.
You don't need drivers, your drive probably needs cleaning or it's broken. Or is it a bad disc you're trying to read?

I've tried 3 of them, and one was a brand new CD straight out of the plastic wrap. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] And it's ok now...? After nearly a week of this problem, it finally just decided to function properly. Nevermind, I guess.
