So I just bought windows 7 online and when it came in the post today, they sent me the fucking upgrade version, so I would just like to know if I could use the windows key from the upgrade box if I download/lend a disc from a friend?
I can not find a definite answer if an upgrade key works with a full installation DVD.
Well, you can always try. If setup won't take the key at the installation, try installing with no key first (this gives you a 30 day time frame to activate windows) and then enter it later.
Oh well, time to get downloadin' I guess.:frown:

If Setup doesn't take it it's not going to work later.
You have to hack it.
Just went ahead and bought another copy and sold this one to a friend, anyway I have a few more questions.
I plugged my old hdd into an external box, but some of the folders, especially the ones I actually need stuff from, have locks on it and no idea how to disable them.
And where is the firefox bookmark list.
Oh well, too late now, and at least I have the pro version now :v:

Hm, how do I disable the encryption thing, it's annoying, at least I think that's what's doing the folder thing.
From my knowledge You can't disable the encryption.
