DICE did nothing wrong, the game itself is fine, it was just buggy as shit - which could be avoided if EA gave them more time, they're the ones to blame here.
aaaand you're not getting it back
No you lost player trust with the bullshit you keep pulling in every game [editline]9th October 2014[/editline] Talking about EA here
The beta came out 4 weeks before release, ending 2 weeks before release. By the time the beta ended the discs were already being printed and being shipped to stores. Anyone with any sense could have seen what was about to happen and should have canceled their pre-orders while they still had the chance Then, each patch seemed to make the game worse than it was before the patch with the exception of maybe one. And the entire time they're fixing the problems by just morphing the game to as close to Battlefield 3 as possible. After the reveal of Hardline, even the most hardcore BF fans were like No, this is ridiculous, it's exactly the same as what we have now with worse maps and boring new weapon models. And even EA agreed and said right, let's delay this shit. And if EA pulls a move like that, you better keep your eye on it because something's up
They lost my trust on BF3 to be honest. Unoptimized piece of shit... :suicide:
They lost my trust on BF3 to be honest. Unoptimized piece of shit... :suicide:
What?? BF3 was extremely optimized for almost every card/cpu setup
If they screw up Battlefront, they might as well consider that trust lost for good.
They lost my trust on BF3 to be honest. Unoptimized piece of shit... :suicide:
Unbalanced*
"Almost" is the keyword here. It ran like crap on my setup, but BF: BC 2 runs and looks better. And don't get me started on the game balance, an example would be having to unlock the flares for the jet. It's ridiculous, there is no way to evade incoming missiles if you don't have them unlocked.
That was fixed though, every vehicle got a set of unlocks they started with. BF3 as of now is pretty damn balanced.
aaaand you're not getting it back
They better not. Battlefield 4 was a complete disaster. The netcode ranges from iffy to unplayable, balance is nonexistent, the new maps are horrible and the returning old maps aren't much better (seriously they completely ruined Oman and thought that Operation Metro was the BF3 map that needed to be brought back), performance is bad and crashes frequent, and they still have the audacity to put a good amount of the content behind a paywall that's almost as high as the base price of the game (not to mention selling "shortcuts" for weapons that aren't behind that paywall). Battlefield 4 has been out for just under a year and still isn't in a release worthy state.

Then you had the issue of the stinger missile never actually working properly.
DICE did nothing wrong, the game itself is fine, it was just buggy as shit - which could be avoided if EA gave them more time, they're the ones to blame here.
Both parties are to Blame here, Dice for not putting their foot down and EA for pushing for an quicker release. And 'Game is fine' is subjective, they absolutely ruined Rush mode for example, and when Rush on PC was arguably the most popular game mode alongside conquest in BF3, well you done gone fucked up I'm afraid. As over 3/4 of my games were spent on Rush in BF3, to say i was not impressed with it in bf4 would be an understatement.
"I think we have to do things to get them to trust us," Sirland continued, "not say things to get them to trust us. Show by doing."
this is some advanced thinking right there

They fixed the netcode way back. And you can buy separate map packs if you want (premium goes for like 25£ on gmg anyways). To be fair, the amount of content the 5 map packs bring is pretty fucking much.
Battlefield 4 2.0 is pretty blazing good. Fall patch did it good.
What?? BF3 was extremely optimized for almost every card/cpu setup
*half a year after it came out Performance and polish was dreadful when it released, and the same thing happened to 4 after they promised they would be 'prepared'
If you make BF2142 in your new engine aswell as new additions, then, yes. You will get my everlasting love.
No, Dice you lost player trust because of many other things that happened leading up to and including the Battlefield 4 launch.
What?? BF3 was extremely optimized for almost every card/cpu setup
Not for HD6850/Athlon II X2 255 I guess, when the minimal CPU requirement is only a bit below that and the minimal GPU requirement is quite below. Never got anything above 30fps in a normal 32-player or less game. The Karkand expansion pack maps oddly enough worked better. BC2 had the exact same issue but the game was way smaller than BF3 in every aspect. The framerate was identical (if not worse on BC2?? I've played it recently and it performed horribly) on both games, which makes me think the problem went from a version of the engine to the next. Either that or the rumours are true and low/mid-budget AMD really suck for gaming, which seems to be the more likely assumption. Guess I need a quad or better to play these games, which is seriously weird because BC2 came out at a time that duals were still viable. Or maybe it's my hard drive which is slow. :v: Or the fact that I've been stuck to AMD for a while. Who knows, I'm glad I'm ditching this processor soon anyway...

Hopefully Battlefront 3 will be made from what they learned.
DICE did nothing wrong, the game itself is fine, it was just buggy as shit - which could be avoided if EA gave them more time, they're the ones to blame here.
I don't know about that, now I'm just gonna start by saying that I've not purchased the game, only played a bit on the free beta etc. I really liked BF3, but BF4 feels more like BF3.5 from my limited experience. I mean the guns felt the same, vehicles felt the same, everything felt the same as BF3. I don't see a reason to purchase BF4 for that reason. To me it feels like they've gone the same way as Call of Duty. I just want a BF1942 running on the latest Frostbite tech.
So that doesn't mean the game is unoptimized, you just have a really crappy CPU for a game that is very CPU intensive in multiplayer.
I have an i5-2500k and it still ran like shit.

But I and everyone I know who still bother playing it are still having frequent performance and netcode issues and crashes.
Bad Company 2 is by far my favorite online shooter of all time. BF3 I outright refused to play because it removed all the fun in favor of being a mass-pandering COD ripoff, and because of Origin / Battlelog. BF4 just made me smile. Dice really dropped the ball in recent years. I'm scared they'll try a Bad Company 3.

If there is a problem, it's most likely on your end. Don't blame DICE for problems they can't fix.
I wouldn't put this on DICE, they were pretty much forced to crank out BF4 in an absurd time window by EA just to coincide with the launch of the Xbone and the PS4
Bad Company 2 is by far my favorite online shooter of all time. (this isn't a joke)
I'm one of those players. I'm never going to buy another Dice product again and there is nothing they can do to change that.
