I've got the infamous HAF 932 case. This beast:

All in all it's a decent case. Though the dust it can collect in a week at my house will frighten some people. Between my pets and constant moving of people around here, it would require cleaning at least 3/4 times a month to keep clean. Currently i've used tiny velcro pieces and some thin mesh-sheet material from walmart to keep dust out, but now they're clogged up as well. I need a better solution.
What would be some good ideas for modding this case to prevent such horrible airflow/dust issues it has? Nothing too insane, but just some macgyver-like solutions. Or should I pan out a bit and buy a new case all together? Thanks in advance.
Compressed air.

I use it. but as much as I clean this thing it's only a matter of time before something build up enough of a charge to shock a component dead. :\
not to mention its a little tricky not making the liquid crap come out with the air, makes me paranoid.

Invest in a small air compressor like I did, keeps my Antec 1200 clean..

and slowly wait for a component to get shocked to death? :p
no thanks. i'm considering just getting another case entirely. Something with far fewer holes...everywhere lol.
turn the fans around? uhh
Pantyhose?
turn the fans around? uhh
tried it :c. Seems all the metal mesh fucks that idea. It just sucks the dust in through the vents and mesh.
Pantyhose?
Lol using that now. It gets so clogged it raises temps (not horribly so) but after it gets so clogged, the dust just works its way through the pantyhose even.
Your concern is more delicate than your own machine.
See how much dust you collect having your rig elevated, like on a table. You cannot run away from dust
Right, at the moment I have mine on a table/thing. It doesn't collect too much dust.

True. I've just tried a lot and am frustrated by it. I know i'll always have some dust in there regardless, but the mesh and holes all over the case make it more of a problem. I've reversed the fans, had it in my desk, under it, on top of it, and in a few places around my room as well. I've resorted to the pantyhose idea, which is failing a bit now. Having an older house with hardwood throughout the palce and the doors raised a solid 1 1/2" off the floor makes it very easy for the dust to travel.
Just to clarify, i'm not talking about a thin layer of dust particles. It looks comparable to this after a month.

I'm considering taking the computer apart and sticking some filter material in a few places to see if that helps...
Clean your house.
But let's see..what else...

Put these on intake fans.
And....put your computer up high like compwhizzi!
I have a cat, a dog, a HAF loaded with all fan slots filled and it sits on carpet yet I have no problems aside from a 'dusting' of dust over the inside like any other case I've used. I vacuum my office once every 3 days so that might be my golden ticket to a ward off massive dust build up.

Yeah, i've got a dog and two cats. Seven people live here as well, in a 6 room house. Almost every room is connected, and only my room and the bathroom have doors (with huge gaps under them). I sweep my room/the house every 2/3 days as part of my chores.
oh god
then why did you get the HAF-932? not to be destroying your dreams, but that is not a good case for your scenario.
over @ overclock.net they have some pretty creative people, who could probably give you a good idea, and maybe a walk-through of how to do what you want.
You could close off all the air intakes (holes?) and go water lol

Eh after all that I could just as soon buy a $40 replacement case lol. I think i'm going to try a last ditched effort and completely block air into the side of my desk with the computer in there. if temps are fine and everything i may be okay. if not i'll just buy a case that isn't made of wire mesh this time xD.
It was my first build lol. I basically looked for the largest, most awesome case I could find like an idiot. :p

Wanna sell the case :)?

If you live in Florida, I will give you my case, and pay the rest off of the HAF. But only if it isn't bright.
Lol I live in kentucky, and considering I don't have the original case it would cost a fucking tonnn to sell it. I may sell it to a local computer shop. Considering she estimated my psu + mobo to be worth $250 when they're actually worth around $150 I may make some nice monies :D

Keep your HAF, good airflow means dust. I have a Twelve Hundred as well, with all the fan filters and it is no cleaner than my HAF after a month.
