My current build is Intel core 2 duo E6750 2.66ghz 3072mb ram windows xp 32 bit 9600gt 512mb motherboard model: P5K SE Razor barracuda soundcard 500W power unit So what part do you guys think is worth upgrading. I'm guessing processor and graphics card but to be honest I'm not to sure on what card and processor to go for. I want to spend maybe around £200 upgrading it, less if possible. Final question i'm sure has been asked a million times, is it worth upgrading to windows 7 for gaming? So any help would be great.
Tempting but no cooler :(, any other ones you can recommend?
Just reuse the cooler you have.
Just reuse the cooler you have.
Would it work? I'm also considering perhaps just leaving the processor and just getting a new graphics card. I have my current processor overclocked to 3ghz so what you guys think now? Also if i just got the card and no new processor it wouldn't cause any problem would it?

yeah I was going to say - the E6750 is perfectly adequate.. It would be a massive waste of money to get the CPU bradford mentioned. For £120 get http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-120-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1403 Best performance you'll get for that money. Additional upgrades I would make are (in order of priority): New power supply if the current one is crap, which it may well be. If you'd give us the details we could confirm this. New cooler for E6750 and overclock the hell out of it Window 7 64-Bit Another 1 GB of RAM, or remove the 3GB and get 2 x 2GB for dual channel.
My power supply came with the case what details do you need to see if it sucks or not?
Ah.. Well it probably does suck then.. What brand is it? And if you could post the details from its label that'd be good.

He doesn't need to overclock. I doubt he does anything that CPU intensive that he has to overclock it. If you're not using the extra clock you're just killing the CPU faster.
There's nothing wrong with the CPU bradford posted, it's just not necessary. Overclocking his E6750 WILL give him more FPS in the more intensive games. Overclocking only lowers the lifespan of the CPU if you use too much voltage/have inadequate cooling with high temps.

A 4890 and stock E6570 will give him 40+ FPS in nearly every game. And yes, if you overclock the hell out of the CPU it will shorten it's life span, regardless of whether or not you have changed voltage amounts.
5750 or 5770 Asus models
