Welcome to about four years ago.
I desperately want to have sex with mac walters and also give us an exclusive on Andromeda, I have a house payment to make
I like how he shows someone else's opinion and then contraindicates and corrects it at every opportunity instead of letting the man's opinion stand on its own, and then describing why his is different. Such a shit site.
What a disgusting article that focuses more on the "ME3 ending wasnt as terrible as u say guis" covering for their blatant shilling of ME3 as it came out than on its actual content. Reuters has no gaming section for a reason, huge majority of video game journalism is pure garbage.
Andy Chalk is also Fucking Terrible and I'm not surprised that he loved the ME3 ending. Real talk tho, might watch The Expanse now idk, writer seems cool.

Andy Chalk regularly publishes decent articles and news reports. [editline]2nd February 2017[/editline] Why the hell are you guys shitting all over this article when the author just says he respectfully disagrees with the opinion of the guy he's reporting on?

The main actor is a piece of cardboard, though some of the other actors make up for it.

Because it looked like this to me
MASS EFFECT 3 ENDING WASN'T THAT BAD GUYS Expanse wriMASS EFFECT 3 ENDING WASN'T THAT BAD GUYSter opinion GUYS GUYS MASS EFFECT 3 DIDN'T SUCK GUYS

We read the same article? Because it looked like this to me
If you actually take a look, you'll see the article is pretty much a 50/50 split between the author's opinion and the writer's.
If you actually take a look, you'll see the article is pretty much a 50/50 split between the author's opinion and the writer's.
With a title such as "Expanse writer says the ending of Mass Effect 3 was 'f***ing terrible'" I expected to find a little less of "Andy Chalk says the ending of Mass Effect 3 wasn't that bad and just stop beating the poor Bioware". It's not a fucking opinion piece, he's reporting on what somebody else said.

But all journalists are entitled to give their opinion on any topic they cover, even if you disagree with the practice.
And he did it. But all journalists are entitled to give their opinion on any topic they cover, even if you disagree with the practice.
I thought the opinion was usually left to the reader to make while the journalist stays impartial to the topic.
I thought the opinion was usually left to the reader to make while the journalist stays impartial to the topic.
Since when? No journalism is about presenting facts in a completely impartial way because the process of choosing which facts to present cannot be in and of itself an impartial process. Journalism has always been about presenting a viewpoint as much as it is about presenting facts.
Perhaps I'm mistaken and there's more than one kind of journalism, but when I look in a newspaper, most of the articles don't have the author talking about his or her opinions.
Because yeah there is more than one kind of journalism. You wouldn't write a news story the same way you'd write an investigation or op-ed.
Because yeah there is more than one kind of journalism. You wouldn't write a news story the same way you'd write an investigation or op-ed.
You're right. However I don't know what category this would fall under; Half of it is a news article and the other is an op-ed. And considering that half of it is an op-ed, I'd consider the title slightly misleading the reader into thinking it's all about news. But one can argue that this can be expected of PC Games.

Yes, they are a biased piece of garbage and they are a major influence for hype culture but the one thing they do well is report on something as unbiasedly as possible. It's everything else they write that should be ignored as pure sewage it is.
Maybe I'm missing something but why is this relevant? Like I agree with this author dude but why is this news? Is he like an important author at the moment? I have never heard of The Expanse (or maybe I just heard the German title?)
this is your yearly reminder that PC Gamer gave Dragon Age 2 94% - something that PC Gamer and Rich McCormick has never lived down
