• Static Noise From Headsets

There was always this weird static noise coming out from my headset. The static seems to change pitch depending on what is on my screen. On my computer, there are two sound devices, The first one is a Realtek High Definition Audio which is on my motherboard, the other is my Envy24 soundcard. The audio on the Realtek is broken so I only use it for my my mic. But my audio is plugged into the Envy24, which is under my GPU. The static sounds something like this: http://sdrv.ms/1eKJih3 I tired fooling around in the settings with no luck. Anyone know how I can fix this?
you must use a different audio device. You're getting static because your Envy24 is poorly isolated. If you're capable of using your mic for your onboard audio, you should be capable of using it for normal playback. If you're going to mess with settings, go try installing the generic audio drivers for realtek or your motherboard specific drivers and mess with those instead.
I installed the latest Reltek HD Audio drivers, When I open the control panel I see this: It says that I have both the mic and audio jack plugged in (Which they are). I tested the mic and it works perfectly fine, mean while with audio I can't hear anything. I did a audio test in Window's Sound controls and it shows that there is sound going to the speakers, but I can't hear it. The motherboard comes from a 2011 Dell Inspiron 540 if that helps.
Make sure your default output device is correct, otherwise I'm not sure what's wrong. Either you can buy an audio-card with proper shielding or keep fiddling with your on-board audio until you get it working. Not sure what else you can do, sorry :(
Ok, now this is strange. Today when I got home I decided to get another try with the Envy24. And to my surprise. No static. Don't know what I did but it works. I guess I should mark this solved then
