my friend is saying this will ruin the game but i don't see anything wrong with it
As someone who preordered and never paid for a subscription after that, it might actually be worth looking into now. I remember PvP at least was fun.
my friend is saying this will ruin the game but i don't see anything wrong with it
It won't ruin the game, it was already ruined at launch from what i've seen. I'll give it a try anyway.
So how does the guild wars 2 system work?
So how does the guild wars 2 system work?
Buy original game, don't pay a subscription. You can play at any time.
I believe this would have been the better payment option from the start. Better late than never, I guess? This works well for people that had / continue to have subscriptions so they don't feel ripped off.
My brother laughed at me when I predicted this, now I got the last laugh.
Well, it worked for The Secret World. Now watch them take another cue from TSW and all future story content despite saying otherwise becomes "optional" paid DLC.
My brother laughed at me when I predicted this, now I got the last laugh.
Definitely not what most people predicted - they thought it would be going F2P, but instead they went single payment model. Only other game I've played single payment was Guild Wars 1, and that was fun
Maybe I'll try it now.

They'd never go fully F2P, they still want to make a profit and that'd mean even more stupid cashshop factors besides horses, or dropping the sub like this yet still making money off of purchases of the game.
I said this back in the damn beta and the whole community thought they'd never do it, that it'd be the best thing ever. Like, really? Who could believe that.
Well, it worked for The Secret World. Now watch them take another cue from TSW and all future story content despite saying otherwise becomes "optional" paid DLC.
I'd rather pay for access to new stuff than pay continuously for the same thing,
And no one was surprised. Looking beyond the awful price of the game and the current subscription, how well does the game play and how active is it? I remember playing in the beta that everything felt really clunky.
Lol, no content gating but there's a premium account that gets access to the DLC, in-game bonuses and an allowance of real money cash? Yeah alright, just like Runescape doesn't gate off content.
Inevitable. It was released far too early. Me and a bunch of friends bought on release. When you can't even see other members in your party 100% of the time you know you've fucked up.
However if you do what tons of other people did and go into the game thinking it's just Skyrim with multi-player then you will NOT get that. It is an MMORPG in the TES universe and if you don't like the MMO formula then don't do it just for the TES aspect alone.
How it looks isn't the problem. It looks pretty good, the issue is the gameplay. Do you still get only 1 gold from killing bosses and shit? If not, I'll try giving this a shot when it goes pay-once-to-play-forever
A MMO Elder Scrolls just doesn't work. They will make much more profit by just making another single player game, just look at how successful Skyrim was.
I still maintain that ESO is actually a pretty fun game despite what the gongshow bandwagon says, but I'd still much prefer a more normal elder scrolls game with drop-in/drop-out co-op to an MMO. Because it's not centralized you could still do mods and jazz, and I prefer playing games with just my friends usually anyway
So has it improved a lot since release? I remember playing for about 1 week then dropping it because of bugs etc.. I may give it a try once it goes subscription less
