• Getting Gmail to collect email from a Microsoft Exchange email account

I use Gmail for my main email account but I also have a school email account where all my school related email is sent. I want Gmail to collect this email but I am having some trouble. Adding the Microsoft exchange account as a POP3 account on Gmail doesn't work. (I'm talking to the school IT techs about this.) I decided that, as an alternative, I would create a rule so that the Microsoft exchange server automatically forwards all the email to my Gmail account. I've tried this in Outlook web access which my school provides but there is no option for creating rules for some reason and I tried using outlook which is annoying and the rules are in the client so that it only forwards the emails when the program is open. The main reason I want to do this is to get the email easily on my iPod Touch so I was thinking, as an alternative, is there an app which can collect emails from both servers? (The normal mail application can only collect either email from a Gmail account OR the Microsoft Exchange account.) Thanks and sorry about the long post.
Is it not possible for you to add the Microsoft Exchange email account as an additional mail account on the iPod Touch? I've configured multiple email accounts with the Mail app and it seems to work fine.
