I live in Australia, the land of everything expensive (except for wheat). Using the MSY scraper here, grabbing prices off the .pdf here Here's the current build so far: Recycling: keyboard, mouse, monitor Case - Lian Li PC-K62 - $155 M/B - Gigabyte P55-UD3R - $148 CPU - Core i5 - $234 RAM - G.Skill-Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) Kit, 1333MHz - $125 GPU - Gigabyte 5770 1GB - $203 PSU - CoolerMaster Extreme Power 550W - $75 HDD - Seagate 500GB SATA - $64 DVD - BenQ SATA DVDRW - $39 Total - $1039 Considering a budget of $1100, are there any improvements I could make to this build?
Considering it's 962 USD, that looks pretty nice. i5 does support Dual Channel, last time I heard.

Get an Antec 300 Illusion/HAF 922/Antec 900
Get an Antec 300 Illusion/HAF 922/Antec 900
300 is worst case I have ever had the misfortune to own. HAF and 900 blow the budget
I don't think that NZXT Apollo is going to be any better than a 300, if you want to buy a good case you'll have to spend a bit more, the Lian-Li PC-K62 is $155, I'd say it's worth it. If you don't absolutely need a modular power supply the CM Extreme power plus 550W is $55 cheaper.
300 is worst case I have ever had the misfortune to own.
you must have owned some pretty damn good cases then unless you're 12 and talking about it's lack of LEDZZZZ [editline]03:45PM[/editline] wait a sec wow, 300 is bad and Apollo is good? you have some pretty fucked up definitions of the word good
wow, 300 is bad and Apollo is good? you have some pretty fucked up definitions of the word good
Too small inside the interior, the reset switch is the size of a pin, fans are too often too far from the connectors (not 4pin, m/b connectors)z I just haven't had the ability to own an NZXT case. And since your so helpful, please tell me why rather than go "HURR IT'S BAD" [editline]11:38AM[/editline]
unless you're 12 and talking about it's lack of LEDZZZZd
doesn't take a master electrician to set up your own [editline]11:39AM[/editline]
If you don't absolutely need a modular power supply the CM Extreme power plus 550W is $55 cheaper.
Cord management, it's a bitch when you have cables you don't need.
I just haven't had the ability to own an NZXT case. And since your so helpful, please tell me why rather than go "HURR IT'S BAD"
looks shit, built like shit, much better for the same prices
looks shit, built like shit, much better for the same prices
Thank you. Probably going with abcpea's suggestion of the K62
