hi, He just wants it to be fast. He will be playing RTS and FPS games and surfing the web. This is what i have so far. Feel free to change it. I still need the cd/dvd reader/burner and a case. He wants to go Intel and his budget is 1000. If so, which one? I have the hyper 212+ already.
Change the hard drive to a Samsung Spinpoint F3. [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] Motherboard is good, I use it, CPU is good, I think PSU is good, I know nothing about the model numbers of ATI GPUs, so I can't comment on it, RAM is good. It's a decent build.
Alright. Can the hyper 212+ handle 125w cpu's?
Easily. Just make sure to get some good thermal paste.
Everything is fine, except change the hard disk to either Samsung, Hitachi or Western Digital. I'd recommend Samsung SpinPoint F3 like he said.
reuse the hyper 212+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500173 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&Tpk=spinpoint%20F3%201tb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207007&cm_re=xfx_650w-_-17-207-007-_-Product for case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119215 pretty much anything works for optical drive, if he has one spare reuse that [editline]15th November 2010[/editline]
Everything is fine, except change the hard disk to either Samsung, Hitachi or Western Digital. I have the hyper 212+ in my computer. Will the 212 with 2 70cfm fans handle a phenom 955? If it will I'll do the same setup for my friends i5 Can we do a different case than the 690? I am using that case and I'd like to work with other ones. I told him to pick a case so if it's not shit I'll use the one he picks. Any cd readers AND writers? Link please? I'll switch to f3. Not sure why I didnt just put that originally...
couple of cases to choose from then http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=HAF%20912 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129079&cm_re=antec_600-_-11-129-079-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197&cm_re=HAF_922-_-11-119-197-_-Product optical drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136147 I guess the hyper 212+ should be fine even with the original fan [editline]15th November 2010[/editline] but really I'd recommend sticking with the 690 II, it's just a great case for the price
