• Windows 7 - Cannot open Firewall from control panel or it freezes
    7 replies, posted
Whenever I attempt to access Windows Firewall from the control panel, it appears to be "loading" for a second before the entire Control Panel freezes. This continues indefinitely until I restart Windows Explorer. The firewall service is running and I don't have any other firewalls installed. What is the matter?
Either a virus or there's a corrupted file in Windows. Do an anti-virus scan and if that doesn't fix it, open command prompt and type "sfc /scannow" without quotation marks
I have scanned for viruses with Malware and a disk check. The scan turned up two viruses, which I deleted. The disk check completed normally. I'm still having the same problem. I'll do the "sfc /scannow" thing and report back.
I get the message "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service".
run the command prompt as a administrator
Same message.
Welp I reinstalled windows and the problem is thankfully fixed.
