I'm planning to do podcasts, and I'm looking for the best quality mic I can find. Tried to look for both headsets and mics, and I got lost. Price range 20$-40$. Much appreciated guys.
If you're serious you'll probably want to avoid "gaming" mics such as those integrated in headsets. You may want to look into studio microphones. How about this? It's a quality clone of the legendary SM-57 microphone. Just throwing it out there, no idea if it works with your setup. There are also USB-microphones that may be easier to use such as this one.

But definitely get a pop filter or windscreen.
20-40 dollars is a bit slim, i'd reccomend you saved up for a Blue Snowball, i couldn't be happier with mine.

I personally have a Samson C01u and I'm pretty satisfied with it, but looking back on the purchase I could have probably spent less money and still gotten a good mic.
Got a great deal with a friend of mine and ordered two Blue Snowballs. Opinions? 40$ each, sounds like a tight deal.
To hijack the existing thread, anybody have a good mic that I could use with my friends for skype and stuff while gaming? A full studio mic seems overkill, I just want to talk without having the worst quality in the group. (Current mic is an $8 Zalman clip on). Budget is probably in the same realm, the main thing I want to get rid of is background noise, which I have a lot of right now.
