• Formatting External Hardrive

I want to format my 2TB external drive to get rid of some of the programs and crap it was shipped with. For some reason my XP disk, Win 2000 disk and Win 98 disks will not load or will not recognize the drive. A Live DOS I found also will not recognize it. I cannot format it inside of Windows because it has a emulated CD Drive and other crap doesn't allow me to do so. I am at school and only have blank CDs if I need to burn something. Thanks

[QUOTE=Catdaemon;26381895]No it didn't. I never event got a menu or prompt or anything from Ubuntu...was just a black screen for like 5 minutes so I restarted and tried to go into XP And if you're so god damn smart then you tell me how to do it [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] I booted up Ubuntu Live and it saw the virtual CD and wouldn't let me format it or anything either...
See if it can be formatted when inserted as an internal drive.

Warranty is still good on it and such. Plus none diy enclosures are a bitch to get back together
