Oh shit: Motherboard gives off a high pitched beep when I start it up

I am building my first computer and it isn't working out too well:
You see the computer is letting out a large beep whenever I start it up and searching the problem only produced a number of results saying different issues.
The beep occurs once then the system shuts down. All fans (including the CPU cooler one) start up.
I can provide pictures if necessary.
(I had some trouble with the processor earlier and I'm not sure if its broken considering I had to apply quite a bit of force to get it in.)
In my very unprofessional opinion, it sounds to me like a heat (Or heat sensor) problem if the system shuts itself off and the fans remain on. I say this because several months ago, my laptop had a problem where it gave me a bluescreen error, then shutdown fairly quickly without attempting to save/fix anything. The fans kicked into overdrive at that point and go full blast for a few minutes. Turns out it was just a bit of a glitch somewhere along the way, as I figured out from the dump log the crash created.
I added some more cables in (2 4 pin cables) now it just beeps for ages and doesn't shut off, and 4 warning lights appear.
Don't know what the warning lights do though :(
What's the motherboard
Have you even looked in the manual? The definition for those warnings should be there :colbert:
I have, the errors don't match any of them.
I'm going to take it all apart then start again :smith:
Definitely call the people who sold it to you and talk to them about it.
If the beep is continuous and does not stop it could be a BIOS warning, 1 long continuous beep is a power supply problem with most BIOS if I remember, or a keyboard error with some :v:
Mine has always made a loud but short beep when it starts up. At least I think it has always done it...
how much force did you have to apply to get the cpu in? and was the safety lever on the socket released? if it wasn't, you probably fucked up your cpu.
Safety lever? Is that the normal lever or is there a special one that none of the tutorials talked about?
In the BIOS under the fan/voltage control page, do you have any of the "fan fail warning" options turned on? The motherboard will do a continuous beep like that if a fan isn't plugged into the header that's being monitored, or failing or not spinning fast enough.
that's the POST signal.
No, it's the PC speaker testing itself, it's not indicative of anything else.
You shouldn't be building a computer with such a small amount of knowledge.
Start a thread in PC building section and start asking questions.

I had an experienced person help me build it, but now I'm going to have some pros look at it.
I used the correct lever and (I'm almost certain) wired it correctly.
All trouble shooting methods from the manual have failed because the beep didn't match any of the ones they had documented. Apparently, according to the internet, the problem could be anywhere so it looks like I have no choice but to pay a bunch of rip-off merchants to fix it for me.
It's probably just doa contacting the motherboard manufacturer would be my course of action.

HOLD THE FUCK ON.
I just saw your other thread.
I'm betting your processor is in the wrong way around.
Processors use a ZIF socket which stands for Zero Insertion Force. You're doing something wrong if you need to use any force to get it in.
Take the CPU out and see if you snapped off or bend any pins.
