How do I make my avatar transparent?

And how do I get a .gif as an avatar?

And I [B]have[/B] edited the photo with PS and then saved with a .png.. Just take the magic eraser and bam.. But still stays white in FP.
But i saw a few people with animated avatars.. They are not gold or someting too.
Its called an .apng.

Have you set transparency on when you save?
Does your avatar exceed the max file size?

If you want an animated avatar then use the APNG Editor addon for Firefox
One last question I think.. Where is the transparency setting on Photoshop?
Im not sure, I use Paint.NET
Resize your avatar to exactly 80x80 pixels. If you don't the site will resize for you, thus losing the transparency.
Limee if it is a still picture such as the one you're using at the moment upload it and I'm sure someone such as myself can make it transparent for you.

One thing to note is that animated avatars of .APNG are limited to around 30kb
