• On my third HTC Sensation - Still faulty

So I've had my HTC sensation replaced twice now, both because of different problems and I was wondering if I'm just getting unlucky or if the phone model itself is a load of balls since I'm not sure who to blame right now. HTC or Orange. My first phone had a serious battery drainage problem as it would heat up unexplainably and drain the battery within a good 5 hours even when asleep. The battery is fine and the phone itself was replaced. (Seen in this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1145816) My second one was absolutely fine until the glass covering the screen suddenly started making contact with the actual screen and caused that warped plasma effect, this was only in a single area and was a fault. My phone is always in a case in loose pockets, pressure on my part did not cause the damage. This got replaced. My third phone is the worst as it's unusable. The antenna on it is completely buggered as it will not get any signal anywhere unless I use the Orange wifi-boost at home. It cannot find any networks when I scan and I've traveled 11 miles with it today. I sent a text to a friend at 9am and it's now 1:45pm, the text is still waiting to be sent. Usually at home I get full signal as I live right next to an open field with an antenna right outside my house on a nearby mountain, I managed to get 2 bars at one point but it soon died and I've never gotten two since. Bottom line is: Are HTC phones bad quality? Are Orange screwing me other with re-furb crap? Is it possible to end a contract early because I'm not putting up with this any more. I'm going to call them later today and get ANOTHER repalcement and it that one causes problems I'm demanding that they terminate my contract. I'm not a happy customer right now.
Well i have the HTC Desire, and when it came it wasn't working, i called them and they told me to wait a couple of days, then i did that, and sure enough it actually worked a couple of days later. I would blame Orange, try calling them they might be able to explain. And yeah you can end a contract if you aren't satisfied with it. ( You might need to do explain why you want to end it)

I've had it for a few days and its not doing anything, it cant find any networks at all. I'll have a good talk with them tonight on what to do, I'm going to bring up these options: Exchange the phone for the later model (Sensation XL). Replace the phone AGAIN for a NEW one and not a re-furb because they are just making my life inconvenient. Terminate the contract althought this will be difficult. They try to talk you into keeping it with terms and all that lark and I swear to god if they try to blame me for the damage I'll stop being friendly with them.
I've had my sensation for about half a year now and it's working great, I think you've just had some really bad luck. I've sinced flashed Megadroid ICS onto it so I sure hope nothing goes wrong, warranty is void :v:

If you are careful with your phone it's gonna last years, but by the time the warranty runs out, you can already get an android phone that's twice as fast. :v: I had my HTC Hero since 2009 until 2011, worked like a charm! Still works actually, I just upgraded to a new phone
true my brother had a hero just recently got the GS2 I myself have just opened up a new contract with t-mobile I got a refurbished HTC Sensation not a problem the box it came in looked like it had been kicked around the football field I was shitting myself when I was opening it. The phone though is in mint condition and I shoved it straight into a Tough case. Havent had a problem now on to month 3.

Orange is really just screwing you over with refurbs, usually replacement phones are refurb. [editline]13th February 2012[/editline] Try to get a new Sensation or Sensation XE.
