Okay, I got £2300 in compensation after a traffic accident, half of it is going on a brand new moped, the rest is going on a shiny new PC :D. id like it to have as much processing power as possible, if only for the sake of future proofing, correct me if I'm wrong on that. id also like to see things like a good sound card, I like to blast some wubstep while I play and I don't want distortion. big graphics is also a must obviously, but I'm unsure as to what cards are worth their cost. Other than that its up to you guys, make it flashy if you must, I'm also taking suggestions for names for the machine :3 Please try to include things like screen (1080p please) and keyboard, I already have a Razer Deathadder, would like to know what peoples recommendations are for keyboards though :) Thanks in advance :)
Wait for Ivy Bridge and Kepler.
okay then, how long till they get released at best guess? I've seen a lot of speculation but nothing definitive
A month or two at most according to all those speculations. Rumours are end of this month.
Ivy bridge was pushed back until June or something wasn't it?
Ivy bridge was pushed back until June or something wasn't it?
I believe Intel put out a statement saying that was just a rumor.
okay then, thanks for that info :) well what about other parts? on an i5 ivy bridge, what motherboard do we think could be good, based on the mobos that work well on sandy bridge?

The current sandy bridge one is a great all rounder board and I'm sure we'll see one on the new chipsets.
Keyboards can be difficult to recommend, read up on mechanical switches in the Mechanical Keyboard Thread and depending on what you think you may like, look up youtube videos that show how they sound and try to find reviews for build quality, etc. One of the best things you can do is try to find a store that sells mechanical keyboards and test the different switches yourself before making a decision.
