Does that mean they're going to create Kinect games and Avatar items like Rare does?
Does that mean they're going to create Kinect games and Avatar items like Rare does?
minecraft: dance dance
The only thing I'm hoping to see from Microsoft is for them to port Minecraft from Java to C++, the way it's already been done for console versions. And then get that modding API sorted out.
Let's see if they can back their words up with actions.
Would anyone actually say "yeah, were going to fuck over this IP"?
And then get that modding API sorted out.
I really don't see them implementing the API anytime soon. Honestly though, I wouldn't past MS to make their own version of Steam Workshop and screwing it up all in one go using MC as a basis. The community is already bad enough peddling their shitty mods/texture packs for adfly/donation clicks.
Minecraft 2 will come to pc, but minecraft 3 will probably be an Xbox Two exclusive, you just wait.
Minecraft 2 will come to pc, but minecraft 3 will probably be an Xbox Two exclusive, you just wait.
Assuming the future Xbox isn't canned for being unprofitable. Still haven't played the modern Minecraft; I couldn't justify its price.
It would be nice if Minecraft was ported to some different engine or something. It would be great to get some actual Anti Aliasing support and shit like that
Does that mean they're going to create Kinect games and Avatar items like Rare does?
There's already a ton of those.
Would anyone actually say "yeah, were going to fuck over this IP"?
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft did this.
Someone's gotta respect Minecraft, I sure don't.
You dont spend 2bil if you intend to fuck it over.
You dont spend 2bil if you intend to fuck it over.
You spend 2 billion to fuck it over for every last dime it can possibly make.

Honestly if Minecraft was re-coded from the ground up and was given a decently sized competent team it'd be decent and would have a lot more good features I reckon.
Its MS, it would be ported to C#
I would be cool with that... C# is an awesome language..... would love to mod for minecraft in C#...
If minecraft runs on OpenGL would that mean there is a chance it gets ported over to DX as some sort of example for performance gains?
Minecraft 2 will come to pc, but minecraft 3 will probably be an Xbox Two exclusive, you just wait.
no it's going to be called called the "360 2.0" 1, 360, 1, 360 I'm funny right? :suicide:
Funny as toothache. I hope the only thing Microsoft does is improve the development of Minecraft, possibly port it to a better engine if it would benefit.
if it was a true voxel based engine I'd love the update

just like all the other franchises that Microsoft owned that began on PC :downs:
Honestly, I don't care if Microsoft owns it. Just please make new content. I haven't played in years because Mojang never added anything truly innovative since the ender dragon.
I wonder if they're going to add Mountain Dew and Doritos.
Honestly, I don't care if Microsoft owns it. Just please make new content. I haven't played in years because Mojang never added anything truly innovative since the ender dragon.
And even then, the enderdragon is a shitty boss
And even then, the enderdragon is a shitty boss
It just feels like it was thrown in to say "YES SHUT UP WE HAVE AN ENDING SEE!?"
Honestly if Minecraft was re-coded from the ground up and was given a decently sized competent team it'd be decent and would have a lot more good features I reckon.
If they were to do that, would it be right to call it a remaster or something? Or just go the full mile and make a sequel? I mean I'm all for it, I want to see Minecraft grow out of its wee little Java sandals and put on some proper boots. But it's so weird to think of Minecraft in a traditional game sense, considering how much the core game has changed since its 1.0 release. What else could they do to justify a big new 2.0 release?
I don't think it's a really good idea to suddenly port Minecraft over to c#/c++ or something given how far developed both the game and the modding community is. Maybe in a 2.0/sequel or something. [sp]Don't take this as me saying it SHOULDN'T still be in Java[/sp]
