• Connecting external monitor to laptop.

I have a Compaq TC1100 tablet laptop that I want to hook up to a Mag LCD monitor, so I can either a) use it as my main monitor when on the laptop, or b) use it for dual monitors. So when I hooked up the monitor to the laptop via the laptop's built in VGA port and turned it on, all seemed well until Windows XP started up. The external monitor displayed the Windows loading screen just fine, but once it cut away from the loading screen, the monitor lost the signal from the laptop. Any help?
maybe your cable broke or something in the middle of the process try another cable or something
I think with most laptops there's a fn+(key) combination that you have to press in order to use a 2nd monitor either that or try to do something with right click -> properties
Or press Windows Key - P Lets you do this.
