I've made this webapp (http://alissa.ninja/stochatta) which generates random philosophy quotes. Please take it only once, as some quotes will begin to repeat, so your results may be skewed based on that I need your help to see how good it is. Please go to http://alissa.ninja/stochatta/test.php and follow the instructions. Try to decide which quotes are from a real life philosopher, and which quotes are from a machine. Then, please post your results here
to whomever got a 0%, maybe partner up with someone smarter when skynet takes over
Is this the sentence or is it actually loading? [t]http://i.imgur.com/l9NmmLP.png[/t]
Is this the sentence or is it actually loading? [t]http://i.imgur.com/l9NmmLP.png[/t]
loading. It makes many queries to the database so it's slow. I'm not very well versed in MySQL so I'd love to learn to write the script in a way that it all executes once on MySQL, but I don't know how yet.
Also got 60% right. It'd be better if it didn't start in the middle of sentences and cut off before the end so I could actually see a complete thought though. Otherwise it is hard to tell.
60% as well! 1% better than the average person, HA!

[editline]26th April 2016[/editline] I admit that it's not perfect, but my presentation is friday, and I'll be totally up front with the limitation in the report anyways
80% right. Holy shit i'm a natural. I was kind of half assing it, but you have to think of what the quote is trying to say as a whole to tell the difference. If you can't, it's probably a machine I guess. But if you just merely glance at the quote, it's nearly impossible to tell which one is which. I also think the flow might be off on some of the machine generated ones. Anyways good luck on the presentation.
50% I guess is this were highschool that would be a passing score.
50% I guess is this were highschool that would be a passing score.
If this were skynet anything less than 100% and you're fucking dead, kiddo
I was apparently the 100th person to take the test, with a 60%
I was apparently the 100th person to take the test, with a 60%
did you send the email?
Got a 60%. Wish I could see which ones I got wrong.
90%, machines cannot hide from me, your options are servitude or scrap, fear me
Holyshit, This thing is easy. You literally read the last part of the question as that's the key to tell you if its a man or machine question. Got 100.
70% not half bad.
80%. through blind luck i guess.
Got a 60%. Wish I could see which ones I got wrong.
I want to add that in later; I sort of rushed it so I could get it finished for grading.
80%. The sentences seemed to turn into nonsense in the ones that I thought were computer-generated.
I guessed at rapid-speed and got 90%. Guess I'm just a natural.
did you send the email?
Just sent it
80%, i just got bored of reading and chose random at the last 3 or 4, but this is pretty good.

http://stochatta.com/performance.php here's your performance so far, everyone
I'll take that 70
The problem is high level philosophy tends to be hard to decipher and can often be mistaken (or indeed actually is) meaningless drivel.
That's not the problem; it's the point! :science101:
90% not bad.

Well, as of my writing this, 189 people participated, and the calculated average:
SELECT total/attempts AS "average" FROM average;
is 0.5861258083480305 (or about 58%). The distribution of scores is available at: http://www.stochatta.com/performance.php and 1 person got a free copy of go go nippon for being the 100th test-taker Thanks to YOUR efforts, I got a 21/25 on my final project, and have thus saved my Computer Science grade! THANK YOU FACEPUNCH
