• Bluescreen on startup.

I'm sure this is a hardware issue, because it does this in both Vista and Windows 7. I've been experiencing fairly regular BSoDs for the past week or so, and when they happen, usually a restart fixes it. But now it's been doing it whenever I start the computer. I chose Last known good configuration last boot up (about five minutes ago) and it seems like it might be fixed, but I don't know how long that's going to last. The error messages (last one was something about a memory pool error) in most of my BSoDs have been leading me to believe that my RAM is at fault, which wouldn't surprise me, since I've seen many reports of the RAM I use failing (I use the Crucial Ballistix 4x1Gb kit). The ones on startup don't have an error message (and some didn't even have an error code), they were just saying that Windows has failed. Also, been getting constant crashes in Firefox since I installed the Battlefield Heroes updater, uninstalled that and I continue to get them. Can anyone tell me what might be happening? Specs, if they matter: CPU: C2Q Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (it was at 3.2 before the bluescreens started, I figured putting it back at stock might solve something) RAM: Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 4x1Gb (was clocked at 1080 MHz before the bluescreens, another reason I fear my RAM might be failing me, I reset the clock and timings) PSU: Antec Neopower 650W GPU: 9800GT, was overclocked at one point, but the extra heat wasn't really helping my FPS. Mobo: EVGA nForce 780i SLI HDD: 500 Gb Western Digital drive. [editline]11:33PM[/editline] Update: Bluescreen on startup again. This time last known good configuration doesn't work. I get through POST with no issues, nothing happens until I try to launch an OS. Is it maybe my hard drive?
can you take a picture of it or say wat the error is
I left it powered down for a few minutes, and it's not doing it now. I'll see if I can somehow force it by doing a stress test or something.
Have you installed any drivers recently? Like video drivers? If so then that could possibly be the problem. If you haven't then it is more then likely the ram if you have done a clear CMOS. If you haven't done a clear CMOS then do it. If that does nothing then try removing your ram 1 stick at a time and seeing if it still does it.
I installed new video drivers about three days ago, attempting to fix the problem. I have cleared my CMOS. I'll try taking out RAM.
