Greetings,
As the title says, I'm looking for the best parts 600 euros can get. I have a harddrive, optical-drive and a Windows 7 copy which I could still use,
so that is a bit of money that can be spent more effectively. I would prefer a Nvidia card and a Intel CPU based on experience.
If possible, the new build should be relatively quiet. If someone ever played with the stock fan of the X4 970, he/she may know the pain.
Current basic setup I own:
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 970 (3.5 GHz)
Motherboard: ASROCK (don't know the specific model out of my head)
Memory: 2x4 GB (Same as above, but they are showing flaws)
GPU: GTX 550 TI (Also showing flaws. And getting old)
That setup would be basically my "emergency" backup computer. So upgrading is out of question.
Flag is correct. I live in the northern parts of Germany. Problem for me is that I never have built a computer from scratch.
I've basically only switched graphic cards and power supply. So is assembling by myself advisable or is the price difference small?
I hope someone can "advise" me.
---TL/DR---
-Budget
600 Euros
-Games that you'll play/Applications you'll use
Currently mostly Counter-Strike or old games. I'm not much into Graphical diversity, but the build should be solid for next the two years.
-Native resolution of your monitor
1680*1050. Thinking about changing to 1920*1080.
-Things you can reuse (OS, hard drive, optical drive)
Windows 7, hard drive, optical drive
-Extras that you want (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc)
nay
-Where you live
Germany. Northern Germany to be more specific.
Could you link us some sites to use for the build? And if you can swap a PSU and graphics card, you'll be fine

Uff, going by what friends used, these SEEM to be good sites for germans.

I'm not entirely sure about that, though. Most of them used Alternate.
Had a quick look on alternate and tried to configure something for my own to see if I would get along with 600 euros. I'm upping the maximum price to 650€. Sadly I really don't know what is considered good by todays standards and still need help.
This is about as good as I've got. You may be able to find some better deals on the site though, so use this as more of a guideline. Google translate wasn't working and I can only get so far on pictures.

You could drop to an r9 280x if you can't swing the bit extra, but the 280x's weren't working on their site.
Thanks, that helps. Sorry for going to the trouble of having to use a translator.
I asked a mate that builds for himself from time to time and his suggestion were (under the circumstances that I maybe get access to 8 GB of RAM for free from another mate) the following:
GPU: Sapphire R9 280 Dual-X-Boost (I guess it just is much cheaper in price/performance than Nvidia)
CPU: Intel i5-4670
Cooler: Artic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2
Mainboard Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H (but why is that mainboard so expensive? 130€)
Case: Zalman Z9 Plus
PSU: Corsair CX750
Coming down to 630€. Your thoughts?

The CPU/GPU combo is okay, but you could get away with just using the stock cooler that comes with the CPU and save yourself some money. Plus you could replace the Z97 motherboard with something using H87 or H97, either should work with that CPU. Aside from that everything else is okay.
