Good reasoning. Bye shit series! Welcome promising new IP!
the first three j&d games were actually pretty damn good
Good reasoning. Bye shit series! Welcome promising new IP!
Jak and Daxter a shit series? Did I read that right? Naughty Dog, I hope you ponder over this more as you are developing The Last of Us. I would love to see another TRUE jak game.
Decent reasoning. Goodbye awesome series, Welcome promising and hopefully awesome new IP!
Fixed Nah, Every one has there own opinion [SP] Yours is just wrong[/sp]
jack n daxter 2 was the shit
That fucking fish those fucking heartbeats
ND is great, I just wish they hadn't chosen something as cliche as zombies, even though I know they'll make it awesome.
Jack & Daxter were fucking amazing. I want one with a current gen engine, with the same writer and world designer/char artist(s)
I really wish they would stop fucking around in this Uncharted-related comfort zone and go back to Jak. Hell even the main character of Last of us is clearly influenced by Nathan Drake.
jack n daxter 2 was the shit
Jak II had a fucking insane difficulty curve around Act 2. Playing it today it doesn't seem as bad, there are a few bits where it's just annoying. But back when I first played it, holy shit that was enraging.
J&D, Spyro, Crash, Croc, Ratcher & Clank. How I miss all of you. J&D stopped (probably for the better), Spyro is dead to me, Crash is dead to me, dunno how Croc is faring and the recent R&C games haven't been too stellar.

It was horrible
Jak and Ratchet were my childhood
That's a pretty humble reason to not continue a game series.
I'd rather they do another Uncharted and do it properly. Uncharted 3 was a good game, but compared to Uncharted 2 it was... well, lackluster. It was less about exploring the unexplored and more about cramming as many locations and characters into it. The story and game felt rushed due to the many locales you had to visit, and the desert section was really short, compared to the amount of time you spent in the mountains in the previous game. [sp]The part were you're stranded in the desert is perhaps one of my favorite parts of any video game, extremely well done, but they just had to go ahead and conveniently place a dozen truckloads of henchmen in the deserted village, and have a generic action scene, of which there were far too many - far too frequently - in the game. Drake hasn't had anything to drink for two days, and then he goes on to kill scores of people? Instead they should have given us the option to explore the village on our own, perhaps have the Bedouins use the village for shelter, and maybe have them and Drake have some sort of initial conflict to allow character development as they have to fight a common enemy. This could also allow the Bedouins to be more fleshed out, and have us care about them, like the villagers in U2. Hell, anything but the way it was done in the game would be good.[/sp]/rant
I used to have first four Jak & Daxter games but I don't know what happens to my 3rd one.
This is possibly one of my true favorite games, even over others like Half-Life, Garrysmod, and Battlefield. I was hoping that they were going to continue the series, but come to think of it, it would probably ruin it's reputation...makes me want to play it again...TO THE EMULATOR!
Oh the days of coming home from school, getting on my beanbag and trying to get past Jak 2's fucking boss fights All on a 13 inch CRT screen [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img] I think I still have my savegames somewhere, time to break out the PS2 and dig through the stacks of games
Jak and Ratchet were my childhood
Feelings, all the feelings.
Jak and Daxter a shit series? Did I read that right? Naughty Dog, I hope you ponder over this more as you are developing The Last of Us. I would love to see another TRUE jak game.
That's just the problem, they feel they wouldn't be able to MAKE next true Jak game.
Getting ND and Sony to reaquire Crash Bandicoot instead would be a fucking godsend. Imagine how much platforming levels could they put into a Blu-Ray disc.

Hell, anything but the way it was done in the game would be good.[/sp]/rant
Not to mention the AI aggressiveness jacks up to the absurd around that part. [sp]Honestly it just felt like we were treading the same general story structure as U2, but the pay off at the end did not fucking cut it, the main villain just up and dies suddenly, they looked like they were gonna do some weird magic shit with her right hand man but never did, you just shoot him a bunch of times and he dies, I was expecting Drake's back story to be explored more than it was, I mean come on the fucking game is called "Drake's deception" all they did was hint at that he might not be a descendant of Sir Francis, that he might have just made it all up and that his Mother off'ed herself and his Father gave him up, we don't get even know their fucking names, and we learn about all of this in one cutscene, it was a good scene and the acting in it was amazing, but it stands pretty much alone in a sea of kinda meh moments in the acting and plot progression, though Charlie being claustrophobic was a nice touch too. and I honestly think the Team looked at themselves while they were making the finale and realize that if they actually opened the giant urn the story would loose all seriousness, because whatever was inside it would likely be some mystical voodoo bullshit ancient evil and you would have to run around killing it with bullets, that or they would have to go crystal skull on us, and NOBODY wants that. so they wrote themselves into a corner and we're likely running out of time so drakes just like "no fuck you" and sends it back to the bottom of the lake WITH A ROCKET PISTOL that was just coincidentally laying around as it was the only way to actually end it from there without going full retard on us. I think they now look back on the Nazis zombie "things" in U1 and the Lazaravich boss fight in U2 with embarrassment. and yeah the bedouins felt rushed in and incomplete, they really only serve as a plot device and it shows that they really didn't have enough time to work on them, what with all the HIGHFLYING ACTION MOMENTS and the THRILLING CHASE AND SUBSEQUENT ESCAPE SEQUENCES that the game is filled to bursting with.[/sp] /spoiler tetris.
I remember spending hours in J&D2 fucking around with the hoverboard doing tricks.
In Jak 2 I used to steal many cars and horde them all in a corner then blow them all up at once. Also, the police system reminded me a lot of GTA but in an awesome fictional world where you have super powers and sweet guns.
I enjoyed all the Jack & Daxters except that latest one they released. Although Jak X was not really in any way related to Jak & Daxter. That was a ridiculous fun racing game. Then Jak & Daxter 4 came out. Well that was a piece of shite.
You mean the lost frontier? That wasn't made by Naughty Dog, instead by High Impact Games
I know. It was just an unnecessary expansion. And fucked up the storyline.
