I'm looking for a new graphics card in the $70-$80 range but I can go higher if it's well worth it.
Specs:
Windows 7 64-Bit
AMD Athlon X3 435 2.9GHz
2 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4200 (onboard)
GA-MA785GM-US2H Motheboard
Resolution: 1440 x 900
I was looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125315 but I'm not sure. So could you guys recommend me some good cards?
I would go 4770 4850 or 5750 which ever one fits your price range.
im content with my 2 4850's. One alone is still pretty good for the price.
2 gigs more ram
Crossfire with onboard graphics? I agree with Johanz and get a 4770, 4850, or 5770. If you don't have that much money and you play weaker games get a 4670/5670.
You guys always forget to ask about the PSU. He could have a 300W Apevia for all we know.
So @ OP, what PSU do you have?

You can crossfire with on-board graphics, its called hybrid crossfire
Although the 4200 will only hybrid with a 3470 or older card as it's designed for lower end systems

Just had a look around and apparently some claim it can support the HD4350, 4550 and 4650, but any better card will outperform any combination that hybrid crossfire can achieve

I can't remember off the top of my head and I don't feel like opening my case but its like 600W and what do you guys think about this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125277&cm_re=4670-_-14-125-277-_-Product

Come back when you can summon up the strength to check.

It's slow. Not much more to say really.
585 Watts and I don't really care if it's Radeon or not anymore because I'm probably not gonna do a crossfire with this onboard graphics so Nvidia is fine too.
The Wattage alone isn't very meaningful. What brand and model is it?

Well, it came with my new case and when I opened it up earlier it had X-POWER on it. I plan on mainly playing a mod for Battlefield 2 called Project Reality but Project Reality is way more better graphics wise and requires a pretty good card to run on high which I don't have but I have everything else good like RAM and CPU.
It came with the case? Oh dear :eng99:

Isn't bad.
It is
With your resolution and PC specs you should not need anymore than a 5770.
edit: sorry, didn't read your budget.

if you go higher, the 5770 is actually worth it. If you can't spend up to 150, get the 4850, it's what....100 bucks? I had mine for a while and it worked great.

This is exactly what I have.
It runs games beautifully for the price (although it was $10 off due to a Newegg deal for me when I got it), and will max out most games that aren't ports.
