I was on the laptop and i entered start up by pressing f2 and after i exited it, i couldn't be bothered waiting for the log on screen so i just turned it back off. After i turned it back on it says operating System not recognised. Is this because i turned it off whilst it was loading up or is it another reason? Call me a bloody idiot if its my fault.
I need an opinion before i go take it to the computer shop.
Probably corrupted something.

Do you think it would be fixable i might take it to the computer shop to get it fixed if possible.
Uh, it might be a long shot, but you can try using the repair disc to fix it.

Ok i dont think have that, but i do have the Windows XP Cd.
The OS disc is the repair disc as well, although I'm not sure if XP has repair tools.

Also, something you can try.
Remove the battery and unplug it from the charger, and leave the laptop for like a minute or two, then plug everything back in. Maybe it just needs to recycle.
Otherwise, when does the error occur? During the boot screen, or after it?

Its charging anyway because the battery was nearly flat and now Ive got the Cd in and Ive got it on repair and now its saying 'The path or file specified is not valid.'
Yes, remove all sources of power from the laptop and leave it powerless for a minute or two, then try again.
